Janaki Ranpura
Bio:
Janaki Ranpura studied at Yale University and the Lecoq School of Physical Theater in Paris. Puppetry became part of her theater practice through interning with Peter Schumann’s Bread & Puppet Theater and Larry Reed’s Shadowlight Productions. Combining shadow puppetry and movement, her work explores how people use and share narrative.
She has performed at Zellerbach Hall, the Forum at Yerba Buena, and NY’s New Victory Theater. She tours schools with a hand and rod puppet show through Omax Pi Puppet Theater and is a company member of J-J Trinket's Double-Jointed Festival Series.
