6/8 Clave for Beginners
This is the fourth video that follows tips for how to play clave sticks. Its the 6/8 Clave.

This one is a little tricky if you never played in six. Listen to where I tell you to place the clave beats in six in each phrase. There are two phrases.

Count: 1 2 3 4 5 6 | 1 2 3 4 5 6

There is the three side 6 beats: play the notes (strike the clave) on beats 1, 3 and 6 There is the two side 6 beats: play the notes (strike the clave) on beats 2 and 4.

Now if you want to take it a step further try this:

On the three side play beats: 1 3 5 6 On the two side play beats: 2 4 6

If you do this youll be playing the 6/8 bell let see if you can do it.
